What is Dance Camp East, and who is it for?
Dance Camp East is a weeklong family-friendly festival in Suffolk focused on community, creativity, healing, and growth. It’s designed for people of all ages and backgrounds, offering workshops, music, dance, wellness activities, and more in a safe, inclusive environment.
How long does the festival last, and what are the dates?
DCE is a rare 7-day festival, running from 19th-27th July. Unlike weekend events, this extended format allows for a deeper, more relaxed and immersive experience.
Where is the festival located?
Dance Camp East takes place at Hulver Farm, Bungay, in the beautiful Suffolk countryside. Detailed directions will be shared with ticket holders closer to the event and can be found at the bottom of our website.
How do we get to you ?
How to Get to Hulver Farm, Bungay :
1. By Car: Use satnav with the farm’s postcode. From London, take the A12 north, then A143 to Bungay. From Norwich, follow the A146 and B1332. On-site parking will be available (check for fees).
2. By Train: Closest stations are Beccles (5 miles) or Diss (15 miles). Whenever possible, other campers may be able to pick you up from Beccles—check with the event community or organizers for arrangements.
3. By Bus: Local routes like Konectbus 84 from Norwich or services from Beccles and Halesworth stop in Bungay.
4. By Taxi/Rideshare: Taxis are available from nearby towns like Beccles, Diss, or Norwich but pre-booking is advised.
5. By Air: Fly into Norwich International Airport (22 miles) or London airports, then take a train or coach to the area.
What types of activities and workshops are available?
We offer a diverse range of activities, including dance, yoga, singing, creative arts, mindfulness, storytelling, cooking, healing, fitness workshops and so much more. There are also specific sessions for children, families, and individuals just looking relaxation and downtime.
Is the festival suitable for children and families?
Absolutely! DCE is family-focused, offering a dedicated children’s area with fun activities and workshops, as well as a welcoming space for parents and guardians. Everyone in the family can enjoy a unique, enriching experience.
What are the accommodation options?
Dance Camp East is a camping-based festival. You can bring your own tent, campervan, or caravan.
There are 5 designated circles designated as Fire, Earth, Air, Water and Ether! They range from being perfect for families who want a more quiet time and communal spaces to those who want to connect with others more frequently or stay up later singing around the fire and be closer to the music.
Don’t worry about deciding now, as you can choose which circle you want to be in once you arrive on site, and you have the option to move around at any point during the festival.
What are the food and drink options?
Here at DCE we encourage a communal-catering approach with your camping circle. There are many shared cooking spaces available. However you are welcome to bring and cook just your own food if you wish. and there will also be stalls offering delicious, eco-conscious meals for purchase. There are taps that give out drinking water on site.
Alcohol is permitted to be brought onto site.
Are you eco-friendly?
Yes! Sustainability is at the core of DCE. We use compost toilets, encourage waste minimization, and adopt low-impact practices throughout the festival. We have various bins for all the different types of rubbish to be assorted into over the course of the festival.
It is our aim to leave the site as pristine as we found it.
How can I get involved?
There are plenty of ways you can get involved with DCE! We have opportunities to play music, run workshops, sell goods and be a volunteer or be a promoter. All of these come with great benefits for you. For more information visit our ‘Be A Contributor’ page.
Can I bring my dog or pet?
Unfortunately, for safety and logistical reasons, pets are not allowed at Dance Camp East. We appreciate your understanding.
How do I book tickets, and are there discounts?
You can book your tickets directly through our website and by clicking the link at the towers the bottom of this page. We offer early bird discounts, family tickets, and various ticket options for contributors. Keep an eye on our website or social media for special offers.
Low Income Households : We offer a 30% discount on all tickets for individuals who can give proof of low income.
Installment option : We do offer the ability to pay for tickets in installments.
